Steam Screenshot Folder

Steam is software by Valve Corporation for many platforms that facilitates purchasing, downloading, installing, and playing video games. Having been launched in 2003, it now has over 95 million active users use its platform every month.

Using Steam, gamers can purchase, download, install, and play games all in the one place without having to use other software. It provides additional functionality that enhances the gaming experience for its users, for example, a friends system that makes communicating with friends and inviting them to multiplayer games seamless.

Whilst some games available on Steam are owned by its parent company, Valve, most of the games on the platform are from independent publishers. Other game distribution platforms like Origin and Uplay only support games published by the companies behind them.

If you've taken a photo on Steam and are wondering "Where on Earth did that go?", you're not alone. I think every gamer has asked themselves that question before. Thankfully, it's quite easy to find out.

First, open up Steam, click View and then Screenshots:

Then, select the game you wish to view screenshots for and click Show on Disk:

Finding the screenshot folder for a game

That's it! If you're looking for the actual path of the screenshot folder, it can be found below. Note that you will need to replace USER ID and GAME ID with your user ID and the ID of the game you wish to view screenshots for. You can quite easily navigate to the userdata folder and just guess from there.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\USER ID\760\remote\GAME ID\screenshots
