Overwatch
Overwatch Screenshot Folder, Highlights Location, Config File Location
Overwatch is an action arcade game that has received a number of awards such as ‘The Game Award of the Year’ and ‘Teen Choice award for Choice Video’. It therefore no surprise that it has also received an impressive score of 91% on Techspot, as reviewed by users.
Overwatch offers a multiplayer experience, in which players select a ‘hero’ character to work as a shooter within a team of six to complete specific missions as set out across the course of the game. Available on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, the game has over 40 million players across the Globe.
Currently in creation is Overwatch’s sequel, ‘Overwatch 2’, which was first publicized in November 2019 and will offer advanced multiplayer modes for PvE gameplay. This is expected to also be made available on all platforms as with Overwatch, but a release date is yet to be confirmed.
Screenshot Folder Location
In Overwatch on Windows, you can take a screenshot by pressing the PRINT SCRN
key. This screenshot will be taken in pristine quality (the quality you're running the game at) and saved to your hard drive. Unfortunately, Overwatch doesn't make it explicitly clear where. Thankfully, Save Location does, and that's why you're here.
You can find your Overwatch screenshots saved in the following folder:
%UserProfile%\Documents\Overwatch\ScreenShots\Overwatch
You can quickly open up this folder by:
- Pressing your
WINDOWS
key +R
at the same time to open a Run window - In the text field, paste the folder path
%UserProfile%\Documents\Overwatch\ScreenShots\Overwatch
- Hit
OK
Highlights Save Folder
Highlights are a great Overwatch feature. Thankfully, it's quite easy to find where the files for your highlights are saved. After making an Overwatch highlight, you can find its save file at the following folder location:
%UserProfile%\Documents\Overwatch
Config / Settings File Location
Lots of settings in Overwatch can't be modified via their UI. For example, you can change the highlights save path by modifying the config file manually but there's not setting in the game itself to do this. Or you may wish to reset your config. Whatever the reason, you can find your Overwatch settings ini file, which is named Settings_v0.ini
at:
%UserProfile%\Documents\Overwatch\Settings
You can quickly open up this folder by:
- Pressing your
WINDOWS
key +R
at the same time to open a Run window - In the text field, paste the folder path
%UserProfile%\Documents\Overwatch\Settings
- Hit
OK
- All you have to do now is open the file, double click
Settings_v0.ini
to do that!
