Save Game Location

If you're trying to transfer your ME2 saves, share them with friends, or just make a backup, you'll need to know where they're located on your computer.. that's where Save Location comes in!

On Windows, you can find your Mass Effect 2 saves located in the following folder:

%UserProfile%\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect 2\Save

If you don't know what that means, fear not! Follow these steps to get there:

  1. Open an Explorer window, you can do this by right clicking the start menu icon (bottom left) and clicking File Explorer
  2. In the address bar at the top of the Explorer window, paste the following: %UserProfile%\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect 2\Save
  3. Hit ENTER on your keyboard to go straight to your Mass Effect 2 saves folder!

If that folder doesn't exist, or there's an error, there is a small chance that your save files are instead located in one the following folders:

C:\BioWare\Mass Effect 2\Save

Or

C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect 2

And if you haven't installed Mass Effect 2 to your C:\ drive, you'll need to change C:\ to whichever drive you're using (usually D:\, E:\, or another letter early in the alphabet).
